Includes one manuscript letter written in German to an unknown conductor, "Hochverehrter Freund," in reference to the 9th symphony. Signed "F. Liszt 9ten Mai 70 Weimar." Transcription: Hochverehrter Freund, Ich beglückt durch das herrliche Geschenk ihren Zauberzeichen * zur 9ten Sinfonie, freue ich mich ungemein auf deren bezaubernde Wirkung unter ihrem Präsidio, und erwarte Sie hier sehnlich am Dienstag, 24ten d.M. in aufrichtigen Verehrung und dankbaren Ergebenheit. F. Liszt 9ten Mai 70 Weimar. Translation: Most respected friend, I delighted with the wonderful present, your magic sign for the 9th symphony, I am tremendously looking forward to its magic effects with you conducting it. I shall be most anxiously awaiting you here on Tuesday, 24th of this month in sincere admiration and grateful obedience. F. Liszt 9th May 70 Weimar
